Guatemala: March 1 Update

Wow, our third day at Valley of the Angels!

Today we worked in one of the storage areas (bodegas) to inventory the diverse donations that the orphanage receives for the kids. So many sweaters, t-shirts, socks and sweatshirts! Our job was to sort by type and size and count everything so the staff knows what they have on hand. We were a fast team and we finished the task just in time for lunch.

Most of our meals are accompanied by delicious corn tortillas prepared by the Guatemalan women. In the afternoon we spent time with the kids – helping with their homework and playing games with them. They are wonderful to be with.

At supper time, we shared tables with the kids, who seem to be delighted with our presence. We enjoy being with them, too.
