Habitat For Humanity – St. Francis Inspires Students to Build in Alabama
Today we were asked to lead the devotion to start off the workday at our worksite. Naturally, we picked the story of St. Francis of Assisi and how he was called to rebuild God’s Church. Each individual of our group read a different part of the story and we ended with a prayer.
The community of Prattville has been very welcoming and has provided food for us daily. Today for lunch we ate with the First Baptist Church of Prattville. They prepared a traditional Southern meal for us, which included BBQ chicken, delicious ribs, collard greens, baked beans, corn bread, potato salad, and desserts. Everyone is very enthusiastic about helping to support us in anyway they can, especially with food.
Today we completed the tile and the surround of the shower in the bathroom (technically, Sarah and Tim did). We also removed two trees and assembled the cabinets for the kitchen. Tomorrow we are finishing up the laminate flooring in the bedrooms.
Tonight the homeowner made us chicken salad to eat before we head on our adventure of the night, also known as the Rodeo! We are all very excited to spend an evening of fun, laughter, and team bonding.
