Success Stories: Veronica Lark
Veronica Lark, ’16 chose to travel east. While majoring in English, she gained public relations, media and government relations experience through internships in Sylvania, Toledo and Washington, DC. Her positions included serving as a field outreach intern for the re-election campaign of United States Senator Rob Portman, a website development intern at Lourdes and a media and communication intern at both Susan B. Anthony List and LifeSiteNews.com. “Many of these opportunities grew out of my love for writing as well as a firm conviction that writing is a critical tool not only in academia but in the workplace,” says Veronica who currently is employed as an outreach assistant to the political director at the Media Research Center near Washington, DC.
The talented wordsmith credits her success to the tools she learned while working for the university Career Services department and the lessons and advice of English and political science professors whose mentorship was very helpful. “I value truth and knowledge. The Media Research Center stands for a mission that affects all areas of social and political thought in this era,” she says. “It exposes and neutralizes media bias through a variety of mediums. I am fortunate to work with various layers in the organization to promote the mission.”
