The October Lifelong Learning Hot Topic – History and Research at the Toledo Museum of Art Library & Archives – begins at 11:15 a.m. The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) is well known, but how much do you know about the Library?

Established in 1904, the TMA Library has grown from a dedicated bookcase to a collection of tens of thousands of art books, catalogs and periodicals. It has always been an integral component of the TMA’s focus on art education. The TMA Archives preserve and share the history of the museum. Alison Huftalen, Head Librarian, and Julie McMaster, Archivist, will present a history of the library and archives as well as provide an introduction to library collections and museum history. Learn about the Museum Library League, the group that sponsors the TMA’s art book club, annual book sale and other special library-related programs.

The lunch and learn event is $10 for Lifelong Learning members and $15 for non-members. Cost includes a lunch of soup, sandwiches and dessert. Reservations are requested at least one week prior. Call 419-824-3707 to reserve your seat. For more information about Lifelong Learning, visit
