Literacy Action Forum: Data-Based Decision Making as Part of Effective Tutoring Programs

January 25 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

All Dew-funded Tutoring Fund Grant team members, including faculty and staff, students, district-school partners, candidates, and others serving as tutors, are invited to participate. Additionally, the forum welcomes all others interested in accelerating learning through effective tutoring and working with small groups as part of regular instruction and Tier 2 support.

FOCUS OF THE FORUM:

Participants can expect to gain valuable insights into the Data-Based Decision Making (DBDM) framework, enabling them to identify common ways to adapt instruction within DBDM. The forum will empower attendees to apply their knowledge of DBDM in making instructional decisions, leveraging realistic academic data to enhance tutoring effectiveness. The forum features two speakers from The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk (MCPER):

Sarah Powell, Ph.D.: Associate Director, MCPER

Sharon Vaughn, Ph.D.: Executive Director, MCPER

These experts will share their expertise, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of DBDM and its application in the context of effective tutoring programs.

The Action Forum is a free event, open to all interested parties. Participants are encouraged to register in advance using the attached QR code or by visiting the event registration link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JanuaryActionForums
