David Harms, Ph.D., is an adjunct professor in the College of Business and Leadership at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. Harms holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Bowling Green State University, a M.Ed. with a technology endorsement from Lourdes College, and a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Walden University. Dr. Harms brings a wide variety of business experience to the classroom. He has owned and operated a commercial recording studio since 1995, and has operated his own landscaping company since 2000. Dr. Harms was the 2014 OCSS Secondary Social Studies Teacher of the Year, the 2013 ITSE/ OTIP Technology Using Teacher of the Year, a runner up for 2010 Ohio Teacher of the Year, and the 2009 Penta Career Center Teacher of the Year. Harms serves as an educational advisor at the University of Toledo for a National Science Federation project entitled “Advancing Geospatial Thinking and Technology in Grades 9-12: Citizen Mapping, Community Engagement, and Career Preparation in STEM.” Harms frequently presents at Local, State, and National Conferences.
