Responsible for leading the overall direction and management of Information Technology on campus, Dr. Michael McCormick serves as the University’s Chief technology strategist and architect. As a part of his position, he interfaces with all functional departments on campus, ranging from Admissions to Advancement Services, helping the University use technology to enhance offerings both to internal and external stakeholders. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Information Officer, Dr. McCormick served as Associate Chief Information Officer and has been with Lourdes University since March 2019.
While at Lourdes, Dr. McCormick has led numerous University initiatives including the iWolf Teaching and Learning initiative, the implementation of the new Wolf Prowler Student Information System and Enterprise Resource Planning Tool, and facilitated key strategic infrastructure upgrades to support the increasing technology footprint on campus. Consistently striving to use technology to improve process, Dr. McCormick has extensive experience in strategic planning, policy and procedure development, and managing vendor relationships.
Prior to coming to Lourdes University, Dr. McCormick served as Systems Manager at Elmira College, leading numerous initiatives including the migration from the legacy Student Information System and Enterprise Resource Planning tool, migration to cloud services for webmail and backup services, development of state-of-the-art nursing center, and implementation of privacy and compliance policies.
He holds a Doctor of Science in Information Assurance from Capitol Technology University, a Masters of Science in Education from Elmira College in Corporate and Community Education, additionally holding certifications in the Training of Trainers and Human Resource Development. Prior to earning his Masters, he earned two Bachelors Degrees in Mathematics and Adolescence Education from Elmira College, graduating with highest honors.
