Dr. Robert Detwiler is currently serving as Registrar at Defiance College. He has more than fifteen years of experience in academic affairs administration, including accreditation, advising, assessment, curriculum management, federal compliance, institutional review boards, and program management at the undergraduate and professional levels.

His research interests are the history of higher education, the student experience in professional schools, and improving the college experience for neurodiverse students. Prior positions include Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Director of Student Support Services at Siena Heights University, Director of Academic Advising and Prior Learning Assessment at Lourdes University, and Academic Advisor/Recruiter at The University of Toledo’s John and Lillian Neff College of Business and Innovation.

Robert has taught numerous undergraduate and MBA/MOL courses for Lourdes, including Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Enduring Questions, Management Concepts, Organizational Behavior and Development, and Planning, Budgeting and Implementation, among others. He earned a B.A. in History and Political Science and an M.S. in Management, both from Case Western Reserve University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education with a minor in Human Resource Management from The University of Toledo.
