Shonk’s excellence extended beyond the court, as she excelled in the classroom, earning CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team honors in 2016. She was also recognized with WHAC All-Academic Team and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during her time at Lourdes.

After her graduation from Lourdes, Shonk continued her volleyball career, playing one season of beach volleyball at Florida International University and participating in multiple AVP qualifiers. The 2016 team, in particular, achieved a school record with 16 wins in a season. The 2014 team also left an enduring legacy with the program’s first-ever 10-game winning streak.

Yoshino’s impact on the program’s record books is undeniable, with a remarkable 359 points accumulated over his four-year career.
