Toledo Public Schools and Lourdes University partner for Masters of Education Cohort
Toledo Public Schools (TPS) and Lourdes University are pleased to announce a partnership with the Masters of Education in Special Education program at Lourdes University. On Thursday, August 12, 16 TPS teachers will attend orientation to receive a Masters of Education at Lourdes University. This new partnership aims to increase the number of special education professionals serving Toledo Public Schools students.
“The Division of Education at Lourdes University is excited to enter this partnership with Toledo Public Schools. The Masters of Education in Special Education program will prepare current employees of TPS to be employed in two years as licensed intervention specialists. The program will allow the individuals in the program to continue employment at TPS as a substitute teacher or classroom aid as they will attend courses at night. With the growing need in special education for licensed educators in all school districts, we are honored TPS chose Lourdes University to prepare these fine individuals.” –Dr. Vincent Laverick, Division of Education Chair, Lourdes University
